Manufacturer's Warranty

All of our finely crafted blinds, shutters, and shades are backed by manufacturers' warranties. Specific warranty information should have been included with your product packaging. In the rare event that these were mistakenly left out, we've also provided them here. For information on a particular warranty, select the manufacturer from the list below:

Blindsmax.com Brand

Residential Limited Lifetime Warranty:

Comfortex warrants that its window treatments will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for as long as the original residential purchaser owns the product, provided that the product was installed properly and in accordance with the installation instructions.

The warranty does not include any conditions or damages resulting from accidents, alterations, misuse, abuse, misapplication, improper handling, installation, repairs, operation, cleaning, exposure to any and all natural and manufactured excessive heat sources. (Excessive heat sources include, but not limited to; magnification of sun light through cubes of glass, heaters of any kind, ovens, candles, lighting fixtures, etc.) This warranty does not cover variation in fabric color, grain, or texture in natural wood products nor excessive warping of wood slats in high humidity areas. Loss of pleating is not covered if the product is not being cycled (held in the raised position a portion of the time). Normal wear and tear is not covered.

All moving parts, such as cords, will eventually wear out and fabric may fray. Comfortex considers these things as normal wear and tear and will carry a three year limited warranty. All fabric, including fabric vanes, panels, inserts, and shades carry a five year warranty. All wood alloy and faux wood slats carry a 5 year warranty.

This limited warranty does not cover transportation costs to and from the retailer, costs of removal, re-measure, reinstallation of product, or any incidental or consequential damages.

If a Comfortex product is found to be defective in materials or workmanship, we will, at our discretion, repair, replace or refund the cost of a product which fails to conform to this limited warranty. Colors vary from lot to lot and may not exactly match sample swatch, sample book, or previous purchases. Discontinued components or color selections will be replaced with the closest equivalent current product. This shall be your sole remedy under this limited warranty.

Who is Covered:

The limited lifetime warranty is extended to the original residential purchaser only, in the original window for which it was installed.

Woodwinds Wood Alloy Blinds Premium Performance Guarantee:

Woodwinds Wood Alloy Blinds are made from a highly engineered, high performance, proprietary material; specifically developed to stand up to damp or high humidity environments and applications with high heat or direct exposure. Woodwinds blinds outperform other wood blinds in harsher environments. Woodwinds material is guaranteed not to chip, crack, warp, bow (Some temporary bowing may occur in extreme high heat environments but slats will return to their original shape when temperature is reduced to normal. Acceptable bowing will not exceed published tolerances.), fade or discolor for life, or Comfortex will replace the blinds or refund your money, guaranteed.

Premium Performance Guarantee does not cover damage from misuse or abuse, normal wear and tear, failure to adhere to our instructions, shipping or installation/removal charges.

PERSONA and Odysee Color Warranty :

Comfortex utilizes state of the art technology to provide you Odysee Insulating Blinds and PERSONA Roller and Roman Shades within 2 Delta-E (DE) of the sample fabrics and colors found in the Odysee Insulating Blinds Personal Color System, Odysee Limited Edition and PERSONA Roller and Roman Sample Books. When viewed under different lighting sources such as fluorescent, incandescent, halogen, ultraviolet and others, fabrics may appear different to the eye. Comfortex utilizes the worldwide lighting standards of Daylight 65 (D65) as our official standard for measuring and qualifying color accuracy, because D65 daylight bulbs best represent actual "daylight" illumination. Slight color variations (under 2 DE) are within established industry standard and should be expected. This warranty is in addition to Comfortex limited lifetime warranty.

Gable Point Brand

What is Covered:

This product is warranted against original defects in materials or workmanship under normal use and as long as the product remain in the original window. This warranty extends only to the original purchaser of the product.

What is not covered:

This warranty shall not apply to any of the parts that have failed due to:

  • accident
  • negligence
  • alterations
  • misuse
  • improper handling, installation, or maintenance

Failure to follow instructions for operating or installing the product, loss of color intensity due to exposure to the sun over a long time, exposure to salt air, or normal wear and tear shall not be covered by this warranty.

Warranty Remedy:

Woodland Blinds' obligation under this warranty shall be limited to the repair or exchange of any wood parts or components that may prove defective in normal use within the life of the blind. Woodland Blinds reserves the right to inspect any product or component prior to repair, replacement, or refunding of the purchase price. In no event shall Woodland Blinds be liable for transportation costs to Woodland Blinds. Woodland Blinds will not be liable for cost of removal or reinstallation of the product, or incidental damages.

To Obtain Service:

If you suspect this product has a manufacturing defect in materials or workmanship:

Any unauthorized returns will not be accepted. The original purchaser shall be responsible for the transportation cost of the product to Woodland Blinds. Woodland Blinds will pay for shipping the product or replacement back to the original purchaser anywhere in the continental United States.

No agent, representative dealer, or unauthorized employee of Woodland Blinds has the authority to increase or alter the obligation of this warranty.

Commercial orders or quantity quotes will be warranted for 1 year with the above limitations.

Graber

Limited Lifetime on:

1/2", 1" and 2" Aluminum Horizontal Blinds, 2" headrail and components, Wood, Faux Wood and Composite Blinds, Vertical headrails, channel panels, valances, sheer fabric, Natural Shades, Roller Shades, Solar Shades, Roman Shades, Cellular Shades, Pleated Shades with looped tape, Sliding Panels, and painted or stained cornices (unfinished cornices are not warranted)

Three year on:

2" vinyl slats, 2" acrylic slats, Vertical vanes (vinyl, S-shaped and fabric), and Pleated shades without looped tape

What is Covered

This product is warranted against original defects in materials or workmanship for as long as the original purchaser owns the product provided that:
1. The product was properly installed in a residential dwelling
2. The product was made or assembled exclusively from Springs Window Fashions’ materials and components
3. Springs Window Fashions’ recommendations were followed with regard to limitations and specifications

Who is Covered

This warranty extends only to you as the original purchaser of the above stated product.

Obligations to the Consumer

  • The obligations of Springs Window Fashions are limited to the repair or replacement of parts or products found to be defective.
  • Springs Window Fashions is not responsible for shipping costs or labor costs, for measuring and taking the product down or for remeasuring or reinstalling the product.
  • If repairs are made under this warranty, the repairs will be made with like or similar parts.

Motorization

Components and accessories have a five-year limited warranty. Batteries not included.

What the Warranty Does Not Cover

This warranty does not cover conditions or damages caused by abuse, accidents, alterations, misuse or failure to follow instructions for measurement, installation, use, cleaning or maintenance. Normal wear and tear, including but not limited to the items or occurrences below, is not covered by the warranty.

  • Unfinished cornices
  • When left for extended periods in direct sunlight, plastics tend to yellow or crack
  • Some slight warpage, as well as natural variations in color and grain, are normal with a wood product and are not considered defects. Areas of high humidity may cause excessive warpage of wood slats
  • Some loss of color intensity or discoloration may occur in plastic materials or wood finishes when exposed to direct sunlight over long periods of time
  • All fabrics can lose original intensity after long exposure to the sun
  • Colors may vary from lot to lot and may not exactly match samples of previous purchases
  • All cords will eventually wear out

Springs Window Fashions considers these items or occurrences normal wear and tear and they are not covered by this warranty.

THIS WARRANTY IS EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WRITTEN OR ORAL WARRANTIES OR OBLIGATIONS AND LIABILITIES.

No person is authorized to extend or alter this warranty.

SPRINGS WINDOW FASHIONS SHALL HAVE NO LIABILITY WHATSOEVER FOR INCIDENTAL, PUNITIVE OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.

Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental, punitive or consequential damages, so this limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.

Levolor

Risk Free Exchange Policy

Whether you mis-measured or simply changed your mind, if you don't love your custom Levolor® product FOR ANY REASON, we'll exchange it within 30 days of receipt.

Full 10-year Warranty

Your investment will last. If any part of your custom Levolor product breaks or is damaged due to poor workmanship or defect within 10 years of purchase, we'll repair or replace it free of charge.

Terms & Conditions (effective August 1, 2013)

No-Risk Exchange Policy: If you wish to exchange any Levolor Custom blind or shade purchased from Blindsmax, please contact our Customer Service Department, toll free 1-888-305-8020 within 30 days of receipt. We will request the order number, date and type of product you wish to exchange. One replacement blind or shade of equal or lesser value will be made and shipped free of charge for any product you wish to exchange. This policy does not cover any additional costs associated with professional installation or uninstallation. Commercial contract orders are not included in this policy. We may require the return of the original product you are exchanging.

Full 10-Year Warranty Coverage: Coverage extends to any Levolor Custom Blind or Shade purchased from Blindsmax as long as the product remains in the original window. Levolor will cover the repair or replacement (at our discretion) and shipping costs of any defective Custom Blind or Shade within 10 years of the purchase date. In the event repair is not possible, we will replace the product. This applies to the individual blind or shade, not the full order. Discontinued items or color selections will be replaced with the closest equivalent current product. This policy does not cover any additional costs associated with professional installation or uninstallation. Policy excludes specialty shapes, components, commercial contract orders, orders with waivers and blinds sized over 90". Product that includes the motorized option is covered with the exception of batteries. We may require the return of the original product. This Full 10-Year Warranty supersedes any previously printed versions.

This full warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other rights, which vary from state to state. Some states do not allow limitations on how long a warranty lasts, so the above limitations may not apply to you.

Norm Window Fashions

Norm® blinds & shades are backed by a Lifetime Limited Warranty against original defects in materials or workmanship for as long as the original purchaser owns the blind(s), provided that such products were properly installed. Any resale or other transfer of the product and/or materials voids this warranty.

3-Year Limited Warranty on:

Performance™ Essentials Faux Wood Blinds

What is Covered?:

Colorfastness is warranted on all textile products for three years. For honeycomb shades, cords are warranted for fraying for seven years.

Colorfastness is warranted for three years on faux-wood blinds along with painted and stained hardwood blinds. Wood materials may warp in high humidity areas. Operation cords tend to fray over time. The manufacturer considers these things normal wear and tear and are not covered by this warranty.

Exceptions:

Performance™ Essentials Faux Wood Blinds have a three-year limited warranty. Classic E Series Faux Wood Blinds have a one-year limited warranty. PureSafe™ has a 5-Year Limited Warranty, and a 3-Year Warranty for colorfastness. Different warranty periods and terms apply for commercial products and applications.

Motorization components are covered for one year from the date of purchase. Repair or remake of defective products is the sole remedy under this warranty and in no event shall Norm® or its licensed distributors or dealers be liable for costs to remove and/or reinstall the product. Repairs will be made with only like or similar parts. This warranty does not include shipping charges, costs of labor for measuring, installation, or trip charges. Warranty claims must be accompanied by proof of purchase, as well as details regarding the nature of the problem, location of the product, etc.

Please Note:

This warranty does not cover any conditions caused by normal wear and tear, unauthorized repairs, accidents, alterations, misuse, abuse, exposure to the elements, excessive humidity, fading, failure to follow instructions for measurement, installation, cleaning or maintenance.

This warranty is exclusive and in lieu of all other obligations, liabilities or warranties. All other warranties, both expressed and implied, are explicitly disclaimed. In no event shall Norm Window Fashions® or Norm® distributors/dealers be liable or responsible for incidental or consequential damages,or for any other direct or indirect damage, loss, cost, expense or fee. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of implied warranties, or incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation may not apply to your state.

Nulite Premium

Limited Lifetime Warranty:

Vista Products, Inc. at our discretion, will repair or replace, any part of our custom made window coverings of the following types - ALUMINUM, WOOD, or FAUXWOOD HORIZONTAL; ROLLER, ROMAN, PLEATED or CELLULAR SHADES; WOVEN WOOD (NATURAL) SHADES, VERTICAL BLINDS, PANEL TRACKS (herein called "blinds") found to be defective as a result of faulty workmanship or materials for as long as the original retail purchaser owns the blind (unless a shorter period is provided below). Repairs and/or replacements will be made with like or similar parts or products. This Warranty does not apply to any blind or parts thereof, which fail due to:

  • accident
  • alteration
  • abuse or neglect
  • improper care
  • normal wear and tear
  • discoloration due to sunlight or passage of time
  • direct exposure to: moisture, salt air, corrosive materials
  • warpage due to high humidity or excessive heat
  • failure to follow proper instructions for measuring, installing, or operating the blind

Warranty Guidelines For Product/Component With Period of Coverage

  • All moving parts, rails, components: Limited Lifetime
  • All fabric, vinyl, wood, and fauxwood materials: 5 Years
  • All woven wood materials: 3 Years
  • All cords, ladders, and tapes: 3 Years
  • Motorization, Motors: 5 Years
  • Remote Control, Switches, Etc: 90 Days

Some wrinkling or puckering is inherent to textile products and should be considered normal, acceptable quality. Natural products including Wood and Woven Wood (Natural Shade) materials have a tendency to warp when exposed to the elements. We consider this normal wear and tear, and therefore not covered under this warranty.

Consumers should be aware that colors vary from dye lot to dye lot and may not match sample swatches or colors from previous purchases. In the event, there are multiple blinds in the same room, only the defective blind will be repaired or replaced.

This Warranty is limited to blinds installed in residential dwellings and only those blinds manufactured by Vista Products, Inc. Different warranty periods and terms apply for commercial applications.

Please contact Blindsmax.com's customer care team at 1-888-305-8020. You will bear the cost of shipping/delivering the blind(s) to Vista Products and return shipment or delivery to you. Vista Products is not responsible for costs associated with taking down or reinstalling the product.

Vista Products, Inc will not have any liability for defective blinds other than repair or replacement provided for in this Warranty, which is your sole remedy under this Warranty.

Note: In no event shall Vista Products be liable or responsible for incidental or consequential damages or for any other indirect loss, damage, cost or expense. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. This Warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.

Nulite Prestige

Mariak Industries, Inc. ("Mariak") warrants to the original purchasers of its products, upon the terms of this Limited Warranty, that if installed, used and maintained according to Mariak's written instructions, the products will be free from manufacturing defects for the reasonable lifetime of the project for which to product was originally purchased, effective from the date of purchase by the original purchaser, not to exceed twenty- five (25) years. No salesperson, dealer, retailer nor any representative of Mariak has the authority to modify this Limited Warranty in any way, either verbally or in writing. No other warranties are made except as set forth herein, and said Warranty is limited by the following terms and conditions

This Warranty shall remain in effect only if Mariak's product has been installed by an authorized dealer, and maintained, cleaned, treated and used correctly. This Limited Warranty shall not apply if the product has been damaged due to alteration, accident, misuse, misapplication, improper installation, abuse, normal wear and tear, exposure to the elements, improper maintenance or handling, fire, flood, or other acts of God. The obligation of Mariak and its dealers is limited to the repair and replacement of the window coverings and/or components found to be defective and excludes shipping charges and labor cost for measuring and installation.

Limited Warranty Limitations:

1. Product Use:   This Limited Warranty applies only in respect to products that are used strictly for the purpose in which they were designed, manufactured, sold and intended.

2. Specific Products:   Cords used in aluminum blinds, vertical blinds, cellular shades and roman shades are warranted for a period of three (3) years from the date of purchase by the original purchaser. Electric motors and electronic controls shall be warranted for a period of five (5) years and one (1) year, respectively, from the date of purchase by the original purchaser. Mariak warrants Exterior Roller Shade Fabrics for a period limited to ten (10) years. The Exterior Roller Shade warranty excludes any problems with shades due to the operation of the shade by the end user during inclement weather conditions, which will result in wrinkling of the fabric and improper function of the shade. Exterior Roller Shades are not designed to operate under windy and rainy weather conditions. Fading and discoloration are a natural occurrence over time and are not covered under this Limited Warranty.

3. Replacement Parts or Repairs:   Mariak reserves the right to discontinue or change any of its products as currently manufactured, at any time. If Mariak determines to make a replacement under the terms of this Limited Warranty and exact replacements are not available, Mariak reserves the right to substitute a part or parts of equal quality at its sole option.

4. Warranty Limitations:

  • THERE ARE NO WARRANTIES WHICH EXTEND BEYOND THE FACE HEREOF, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, WRITTEN OR ORAL, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, WHETHER OR NOT ARISING FROM ANY TRADE USAGE OR COURSE OF DEALING, WITH RESPECT TO THE PRODUCTS OF MANUFACTURER.
  • IN NO EVENT SHALL MANUFACTURER BE LIABLE FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, INDIRECT, SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF ANY PRODUCT COVERED BY THIS LIMITED WARRANTY, OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION LOSS OF USE, LOSS OF TIME OR INCONVENIENCE, OR EXPENSES SUCH AS TELEPHONE, TOWING, CRANE, LIFT CHARGES AND HAUL OUT CHARGES.
  • IN NO EVENT SHALL MANUFACTURER'S LIABILITY HEREUNDER EXCEED THE COST OF THE PRODUCT.
  • SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. ALSO, SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW LIMITATIONS ON HOW LONG AN IMPLIED WARRANTY LASTS, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

Exclusions from Limited Warranty Coverage:
The following are excluded from coverage under this Limited Warranty:

  • Exposure to air pollutants and normal atmosphere conditions may cause vinyl surfaces to gradually suffer an accumulation of surface dirt and stains. These are normal occurrences and are not covered under Mariak's Limited Warranty.
  • Any defect, malfunction or failure to perform, which has occurred because of unreasonable use, improper application or failure to perform reasonable or necessary maintenance.
  • Any damage to the products or components of the products caused by settlement or structural defects of the building in which they are installed.
  • Any damage caused by wind, hail, lighting, rain, or other Acts of God, intentional acts, accidents, negligence, exposure to harmful chemicals or pollutants.
  • Any damage or defect caused by any person, licensed or not, who, after the product's manufacture, handled, transported or installed the Mariak product, regardless of that person's relationship to Mariak.
  • Any product which has been repaired or modified or attempted to have been repaired or modified by any person other than a duly authorized representative of Mariak.

In the event that any part or provision of this Limited Warranty shall conflict with any present or future law, statute, ordinance, regulation or ruling, the latter shall prevail; provided, however, that the part or provision of this Limited Warranty which is affected shall be curtailed and limited only to the extent necessary to bring it within the requirements of law, and all other parts and provisions of this limited warranty shall remain in full force and effect.

In compliance with the latest manufacturing safety guidelines Mariak includes with each fully-assembled product warning tags, warning labels, safety devices and cord cleats. Installers of the finished product must adhere to the safety guidelines as established by the installation instructions and by using all devices provided by the manufacturer. It is the responsibility of the installer, as well as the end consumer, to see that all safety devices are properly installed according to the manufacturers installation instructions included with each device and remain so throughout the life of the product.

Phase II

What's Covered:

Lifetime: Entire product against manufacturing defects (i.e. a flaw in the product design, materials, or workmanship that causes the product to no longer function).
5 years: All fabric.

Normal Wear and Tear.

    Any product that fails due to:
  • abuse
  • exposure to salt air
  • improper installation
  • accident
  • extraordinary use
  • improper operation
  • alterations
  • improper cleaning
  • misapplication
  • damage from pests/insects/pets
  • improper handling
  • misuse
    Costs associated with:
  • product removal
  • transportation to and from the retailer
  • brand label removal
  • product re-measure
  • incidental or consequential damages
  • product reinstallation
  • shipping

NOTE: In the event there are multiple blinds/shades in the same room, only the defective blind/shade will be replaced.

To Report Shipping Damage:

If damage occurred during shipping, call our customer care team and report within 7 calendar days or else you may be denied credit for your damaged product.

Warranty Remedy:

THIS SHALL BE YOUR SOLE REMEDY UNDER THIS LIMITED WARRANTY. If this product is found to have a manufacturing defect in materials or workmanship, we will (at our discretion) do one of the following:

  • repair the product
  • replace the product
  • refund the cost of the product

YOUR RIGHTS UNDER STATE LAW:

This lifetime limited warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other rights, which vary from state to state. Some states do not allow limitations on how long a warranty lasts, so the above limitations may not apply to you.
No agent, representative, dealer, or unauthorized employee has the authority to increase or alter the obligation of this warranty. This lifetime limited warranty supersedes any previous versions.
